Psychotherapy refers to a range of treatments that can help with mental health problems, emotional challenges, and some psychiatric disorders. It aims to enable clients to understand their feelings, and what makes them feel positive, anxious, or depressed. This can equip them to cope with difficult situations in a more adaptive way.

The Benefits to Psychotherapy.

There are many benefits to psychotherapy including relationship building, navigatin one through trauma, confronting anxiety, support for any situation and it improves your overall health. Below are some items related to our practice.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy helps people to examine how they make sense of what is happening around them in the moment and how these perceptions affect the way they feel. Together we would work to identify any challenging or difficult thoughts, emotions and behaviours and use behavioural activation techniques to make meaningful changes to improve mood.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness is the practice of enhancing awareness to the present moment. It allows us to recognize our present emotions and feelings both in our mind and body and work through any that are difficult, creating a more positive wellbeing.

Solution-Focused Techniques
Solution Focused Therapy aims to find solutions in the present time and explore methods of solving future problems. This method takes the approach that the client knows what they need to do to improve their own life, and with the appropriate coaching and questioning, are capable of finding the best solutions. Together, we would work to identify specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time oriented goals that promote empowerment, and focus on one’s strengths and ability to cope with the presenting issue.

The Therapists

Meet Brittnee

First of all, I would like to acknowledge how brave you are for taking the first step and considering therapy! I view therapy as a journey of growth and my goal as your therapist is to help you feel empowered to live your most authentic life. With gentle guidance, I will help you gain self-awareness and self-compassion, as well as help you identify your unique strengths and resilience that exists within. I take a holistic approach to wellness and am extremely passionate about helping others along their healing journey.

I take a trauma-focused approach, which recognizes that our past experiences have an impact on our current functioning, as well as the issues and symptoms that clients often present within therapy. Together, we will identify your stuck points and develop a plan to help you move forward and start living a meaningful life that you deserve. I operate from an anti-oppressive framework and welcome people of all sexual and gender identities, abilities, races, cultures, and religious affiliations. Call or email me to set up a free consultation to see if it’s a good fit!

Meet Channon

The healing journey is a courageous one and I hope to be your compassionate support to wellness, discovering your best path forward. As a Person-Centered therapist, I believe in your resiliency to overcome the most difficult of circumstances, and like our childhood years, this resiliency is best fostered in the right conditions, offering a space of warmth, empathy, and complete acceptance. Working with a variety of evidence-based practices and tools to best support you by following your lead to ensure your hopes and goals from therapy are the focal point of sessions. Together, we will work through to heal the wounds of the past and with greater awareness to identify your needs at present to then discover your preferred future. With honesty and gentle questioning to allow for greater self-discovery and harmony to create meaning out of loss, and with warmth and acceptance to draw on your strengths, as I am extremely passionate about finding balance with greater self-compassion and self-acceptance on your unique well-being journey. I would love to hear from you to see how I can best support you on your wellness journey. Currently accepting new clients and welcoming free consultations at your convenience to see if I am the right fit for you.
