Cognitive Behavioural Therapy helps people to examine how they make sense of what is happening around them in the moment and how these perceptions affect the way they feel. Together we would work to identify any challenging or difficult thoughts, emotions and behaviours and use behavioural activation techniques to make meaningful changes to improve mood.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness is the practice of enhancing awareness to the present moment. It allows us to recognize our present emotions and feelings both in our mind and body and work through any that are difficult, creating a more positive wellbeing.

Solution-Focused Techniques
Solution Focused Therapy aims to find solutions in the present time and explore methods of solving future problems. This method takes the approach that the client knows what they need to do to improve their own life, and with the appropriate coaching and questioning, are capable of finding the best solutions. Together, we would work to identify specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time oriented goals that promote empowerment, and focus on one’s strengths and ability to cope with the presenting issue.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy

Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) refers to an interactive psychotherapy technique used to relieve psychological stress. According to the theory behind the approach, traumatic and painful memories can cause post-traumatic stress when you don’t process them completely.

First of all, I would like to acknowledge how brave you are for taking the first step and considering therapy! I view therapy as a journey of growth and my goal as your therapist is to help you feel empowered to live your most authentic life. With gentle guidance, I will help you gain self-awareness and self-compassion, as well as create an empathetic space for you to build positive internal dialogue and self-acceptance.  As your therapist, I will help you identify “stuck points” and re-structure negative beliefs and assumptions that you have made about yourself, others, and the world due to your past experiences, as well as help you heal through recognizing your unique strengths and resilience to support you in taking back your power and creating a meaningful life that you deserve.  I have over five years of experience working with youth, adolescents, and adults with mental health and behavioural concerns and have a particular passion for helping others heal their mind and body from trauma in order to develop healthier versions of themselves. I specialize in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and other evidence based therapeutic modalities, including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness-based therapies. 
Outside of work I enjoy music, all things outdoors, and staying active with my husband and our children!
